Understand the Poker Formulas

Poker is not a game of chances. You need calculate your moves to win the pots. There are plenty of mathematical formulas there that can help you to understand and win poker. The formulas and calculation depends on the cards you get. There are different sets of cards and you need to understand what you need to play and how. Once you start learning poker all these things will become clear to you gradually. The first thing you need to understand is the value of cards. According to the pro players all these pokers formulas work really well if you can use it on the right place and right time. You can master poker by those formulas and the basic rules of poker. You need to pay poker frequently and also you need observe you’re all your opponents carefully while playing poker.

You need to settle on your highest card first and then use the lower cards in your hand for the gap and other suited analysis. You must not try and do something by your own mind. You may end up losing the game. Now we are going to discuss about the points those are associated with various cards.

 Useful tips

If you get the Ace then 10 points will be associated with that. With the king there is 8 points and with queen there will be 7 points. Just like that if you get the jack then the associated points will be 6. There is also something called half of the face value. For example the value of 8 is 4 and the value of 10 is 5. In case of pairs the scores will get multiplies. Then there are suited cards and they add a couple of points to the highest card score. The connectors like KQ add 1 point. If there is one gap it will subtract 1 point and if there is two gaps then 2 points will be subtracted. Just like that in case of three gaps 4 points will be subtracted. And if in case there are more than three gaps 5 points will be subtracted. If you calculate then you can find K9 is about 6 points, AA is 20 points. Just like that you can calculate the other numbers too.

You cannot call raise just any times. There are plenty of factors you need to consider before call raise or fold. There are general rules of thumb and the scores we are going to tell can help you to understand that. If you are in early position you can call when the score in 8 or higher. You need to fold if the score is lower than 8.

If you are in middle position then you can call when your score is higher than seven and can fold when it is less than 7.  

If you are in late position then you can call with a score higher than 6 and can fold when it is less than six. In all the position you need to have a score more than 9 to call raise.
